and particularly at the GOP and how they manhandle the law you might have a feeling for what it was like for people like you who were around during the founding of this country. Granted the folks who were responsible for making the laws in the 18th century were unanimously from the same tribe, unlike today’s Republicans who are 81% white males. The heavy-handed way the Founding Fathers wielded power looks and feels like Mitch McConnell’s US Senate.
In spite of overwhelming evidence, the head of his party is corrupt McConnell et co choose to interpret the Constitution in a way that uniquely suits their purpose for power. I submit that same document was created with the same goal in mind…to lock down power for a segment of the American population even if it meant dehumanizing some and completely ignoring the rights of all but those who were lucky enough to have correct pigmentation and the “Y” chromosome that ensured their default qualities of superiority.
So callous is today’s GOP to the American population they are willing to legalize criminal behavior, codify it in a way to keep hold of the reigns of power and stave off the rule of law from Trump’s corrupt administration. America’s Founding Fathers denied the vote to more than half their citizens, women and made more less than human. What saved America was the likes of Adam Schiff today’s John Brown and Nancy Pelosi, today’s Quaker abolitionist Lucretia Mott who irritated, upset the conscious of the Founding Fathers and challenged their notions of American patriarchy.
