This is how they lie and intimidate

ICE and all other efforts undertaken by the Trump administration to deal with immigration are as illegal and criminal an enterprise as Trump himself. Fortunately for us this example detailed below was witnessed by Superior Court judge Joseph McBurney and members of the Court staff in Rhode Island but it is undoubtedly repeated all over the country.

Here’s the catch. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin claims they briefly questioned someone who resembled an unknown person but that he was never arrested or taken into custody except that he was handcuffed and taken into custody by ICE agents. Were it not for the fact the young man was in the car of a Superior Court judge who intervened on his behalf and spoke up for ICE’s suspect this could have ended up like so many ICE encounters where people who are legally in spaces they are entitled to be in are kidnapped and removed only to be released some distance away and left to clean up the devastation left behind by ICE of their lives.

Another signature of any ICE encounter with American citizens is the intimidation. They want to humiliate and scare people they wrongfully detained either by threatening them, physically abusing them or implying they can do anything they want to their victims and there is nothing that can stop them. That latter threat is perhaps the most frightful. In this case however, ICE merely pointed their laser fixed firearms at people protesting what was surely an unlawful detention. Is this what you voted for America?
